Sustainbly Sourced Ingredients

Our beeswax wrap recipe includes three ingredients; all in which have been farmed and harvested using sustainable practices. Since the beginning, this has been our top priority as a business.

The beeswax we use comes from ‘Country Bee Honey Farm’ located close by on Vancouver Island. Their hives are as organic as a hive can get as they use no antibiotics or pesticides.

We also use jojoba oil that is certified organic meaning it has been farmed without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or fertilizers. The soil in which the crops are farmed remains fertile and the overall health of the ecosystem is of great importance.

The pine gum rosin comes from a family-run business that is known for using traditional methods of harvesting as well as sustainable forest practices.

And last but not least, the fabric in which makes up the base of the wrap is made from 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton with low impact dyes. Upon learning about the textile industry and its heavy impact on the environment and handlers, it quickly became obvious that this was one of the most important choices as a sustainable business. The textile industry is quite horrendous in terms of the toxic chemicals used in the farming, production and dyeing of the cotton. As a crop, conventional cotton accounts for 25% of the insecticides used worldwide. It then uses a myriad of toxic chemicals such as benzene, formaldehyde, ammonia, heavy metals and organochlorides in the production and dyeing process.

Our mission as a business is to source ingredients as locally as possible as well as only sourcing from businesses that aim for sustainability in all areas. There is no other way to run a business in our books. If we don’t have the health of the planet, then we have nothing.

Two artisan soap bars wrapped in translucent paper and labeled 'Eden Crafted' rest on a light, textured surface. One soap is a creamy white color, while the other has a deep green hue. Soft shadows and blurred leafy plants frame the soaps on the right side.
